thoughts... looking to give back...

Sun Jul 5, 2009, 1:12 PM
I am wondering what people think of me... I'm too shy to critique... (nor do I have the skill to say much...) but in my attempts to say good job, I favorite anything I like. Often times I wonder if poeple think less of me, or if I'm one of the average "seekers" who merely take, and offer nothing in return... sadly drawing is not much a talent of mine, but I am a fairly decent writer...

I ask of everyone who reads this.. I wish to add back to the community I have taken from... Give me story Ideas, and I'll run with them... I'm not trying to be lazy I have a few of my own, but I enjoy challenges in writing... I was once told, the more limited you are when writing, the more creative you have to be.

Truth be told I think people are happy with the fact that you fav their works. I give them the feeling that "Wow, some one really likes my art." But I'm happy that you also want to give back. So I guess I'll give ya an idea.

How the story about a guy going on a micro adventure to escape his ex-girlfriend who can't let go of the break up they had and wants to keep him for her self.

I hope this helps as an idea and thanks for faving my gts collages.

YA-HA!!!

Unfortunately, my writing method consists of jotting notes on the back of old recepts I fish out of my pocket on the way to work whenever I think of an idea, and then vomiting it onto a keyboard/sketchpad accompanied by enough colourful metaphors to make it seem "deep", so I can't help you in that department.

I would like to echo Trayxx' sentiments however, and add that critique and commentary from "Unqualified" critics is the best kind, provided they take more than two sentences to issue it. Here you are, the casual viewer, the person we're all actually submitting this stuff for. Your commentary might not be the kind of technical discussion I'd expect from another artist, but when someone tells me they like my work, I like to know why.

I only have two rules: No leetspeak, and use only the correct context for the verb "to suck".

hey, srry I don't check up on things too often, but thanks for the replies... I'm currently working on a story (that I forgot about... Thanks for reminding me) and I plan to post it within the week.... The theme is harvest moon for the snes, so not sure how it's gonna go forth... but it's gonna take me a week...

~Trayxx I like your idea, but I'm not sure where I'd go with it... most of my story ideas are kinda kiddish in nature... but I'll give it a try. When I get an update on that story I'll be sure to message you...

Srry again for replying so late... not to sound rude but I really didn't expect any comments till I actually posted some stuff...

Hmmm... I know how you feel, I only really contributed to the community recently, but don't be bothered if you don't, faving it is just as respectful.

Listen, I'm not really a proper member of the community, but if you want to write any stories look at something in your life. This goes for poetry too and any art. Just take a theme and write something, you don't need to have a clear outline at first, just write. This is the same with drawing, just draw! Do art (even of this kind) because you want to. Don't feel you have a duty to a community or whatever, you have to do it because you want to do it.

There are two types of people in this world... Fire and Penguins.

How far can you fire a turtle out of a canon?! I managed 1385519.7ft!

Come to the dark side... we have chocolate ^^ ...Dark chocolate...

I have to say that I completely agree with Trayxx. Being part of the audience is being a part of the community. My main payoff from this site comes from people collecting my pictures or commenting on them.

If you enjoy writing then preparing material for this web-site is a good idea. There are other web-sites with more of a focus on writing but if DeviantArt is where you find yourself then it is where you should work.

I think it must be hard to take other people's story suggestions and use them as they might miss the triggers that make you write. Still, if they can be used as an inspiration then they are great. The resulting work may bear no resemblance to the inspiration but that's fine. Of course, I say this without having written stuff of my own - just done a bunch of pictures.

I know it's only four of you but thanks for the replies.. means a lot in a way I guess... srry if I'm not to heartful or anything... I'm gonna try and get my first story out as soon as possible.. but it got annoying half way through cause I always have to get things perfect the first time through... even though most of my stuff lacks... talent...

srry if I'm ranting but again I'll get it up as soon as possible.. and I promise nothing less than my best which may or may not be what you're interested in...
:iconsashima:
I must also apologize... I got a job shortly after promising a week.. and life got in the way so I've stopped promising... ever.. I now stick with when I can and maybe... srry if I sound rude...
:icontrayxx:
Its been awhile. ^_^
I'll just say this.
Just do what ya can and have fun doing it. There is not point doing it if its going to be works.

BTW Your not being rude. Take care. And thanks for faving.

YA-HA!!!

I'm personally just happy that you +fav'ed my piece :) It lets me know that someone likes my work, and that's the best reward. The nice thing about this community is that other people's work can inspire you to create your own work and improve your skill. I've been inspired by stories and artwork on DA a number of times. I don't believe there is a thing like talent, it's all inspiration, motivation, and work :)
